I find it pretty fascinating thinking about how the recent developments in the non-restricted semi-auto rifle world have impacted and will continue to impact Canadians.
As a gunnut, my first thought is about how awesome it is to have such options that never existed for me before. Pretty fantastic times for those of us who love black rifles.
Then I start to wonder about the potential political impact these guns will have - will the powers that be finally realize that from a licensing perspective, semiauto centerfire rifles are all basically the same....will they finally realize the futility in making something restricted because it looks scary?
And then I wonder about the impact these guns have on retailers across the country. Canadian gunnies just dropped about $3million in the last 6 months or so, the majority of that at sfrc and wolverine....that is a lot of “gun budget money” spent...is this having an impact on sales of other guns and at other retailers? Will prices drop on restricted rifles to make them more attractive or will they rise because of lower volumes? Interesting times.
