Interesting topic on SxS Game Gun @ ShotgunWorld

They keep your head up and face on the wood. I've shoot o/u and sxs with those types of stocks. Surprisingly comfortable when shooting premounted

Just target shooting or hunting?

That SxS pair in question appear to be customized DT game guns.....unless the owner is/was shooting clay with those in parallel.

Could it be a setup used for Trap Doubles?

I must say the English stock/DTs (and the plain ribs as far as I can make those out) make it highly unusual but then again I have ceased to stay surprised at such things a long time ago. Its very possible though the owner may have been using those for "everything."

Poke around enough gunshops in the UK and you do stop being surprised at the stock configurations you might see. Including things like this. It's a crossover stock meant for a right hand shooter who is left eye dominant.

I remembered the mention of the following previously in Upland Journal.....a search in Google also found it in ShotgunWorld. A really ugly looking contraption but I suppose it works.....I shall try to locate the Youtube clip that I had watched on this event a while back.

Win/64 - want anything like that for Trap?:D

At one time the SxS was very popular for Doubles Trap. This was before the O/U became popular, or was even around. At a time when all was used was the model 12's and SBT's The SxS was faster at Doubles. And you had a Choke choice.

LOL! A Nawab (title of a nobleman in my country of origin.....although most of them were far removed from the part noble) used a Purdey with that configuration.

IMO, the only thing he lacked was a "Krummlauf" (spelling?) attachment! :D
