Interesting Vickers Armstrong "ammunition testing device" ( on a Mauser 98 action )

It was proofed at 18.5 tons which isn't high by any means so I doubt very much it was used for pressure tests. They would have used a different receiver system for that. Maybe developing an accuracy load for South American or European markets they were manufacturing ammunition for?? Whatever, very nice piece. Reminds me of the rifles we fitted with the cheap 1919 surplus machinegun barrels but you barrel is much larger and doesn't have the taper etc for fitting a heat shield
