I just found a 1993 Weatherby Catalog, and even thogh I am not a big Weatherby fan, I found a rifle in there that really caught my attention. It is the " .250 Savage Whitetail Deluxe Limited Edition". Featuring a hand selected high grade Claro walnut stock, hand bedded to a miniature version of the Mk. V, with 6 locking lugs and a 22" #1 contour barrel. The rifle weighs 6 lbs and has a OAL of 41 3/8".

Does anyone have one of these rifles? Has anyone ever even seen one?

That was on the varmintmaster action, and a "review" was done by Guns & Ammo or some such mag. I don't believe it ever made it to production. Just a few prototypes.

Wby also had the Classicmarks out then, still my favourite Wby stock design by far. Wish I had bought one quick as they were discontinued after a couple of years.

That rifle can still be ordered from Weatherby. Just give them a call.

Really? Well darn it, just when I thought I was cured.....:(
Although with the price on custom shop rifles from Weatherby, my bank account has nothing to fear!

BTW, the catalog shows the Classicmark and the Classicmark Safari, and they are very nice. Much nicer, IMO, than the regulag Mk.V Deluxe.

I'm looking at that picture and thinking hey this is a Weatherby. Why is it that it actually looks good to me

That's it! This rifle doesn't have the but ugly, back sloped, brush catching abomination of a Weatherby stock forend tip ;) Mind you I could do with a much straighter comb to make me really like it. Nice tho

Clearly Dustin :p That's what makes life interesting. Variety and varieties of opinion.

Mind you I do have a monte carlo-ish stock on a Husqvarna and although I don't like the looks of it either it sure looks good when its shouldered :)
