Hi All

Thanks in advance for the awesome answers I know Ill get . Im filling in my RPAL forms and am trying to figure out who to use as references. Im worried one of my friends will say something dumb that will get me declined. Im wondering what questions my references will be asked when they are called.

Ive also been living with this girl for about 5 months, so Im guessing that means shes a "conjugal partner"? Will they be calling her as well. That one Im really worried about...

Dont sweat it. The questions are fairly basic and any decent friend with an ounce of common sense can answer no repeatedly and honestly.

Just be patient and polite and the entire process will be ok.

As long as your girlfriend signs the application I don't think they will call her. As far as reference questions, both my friends were asked similar ones..

Does he get angry easily?
Do you have any concerns about him owning a firearm?
How long have you known him?
Does he watch a lot of violent movies?
Is he fascinated with school shootings?

That last one was really odd but both guys were asked that.

Just pick people that know you really well and you should be fine. My very best friend is a sarcastic SOB so I intentionally did not ask him for the fear he would say something stupid trying to be funny. I was a bit concerned with one of my choices though... He is one of my closest friends and confidants but he is Somalian with a very Muslim sounding first and last name so I figured the RCMP did a bit of a check on him. lol I know it sounds bad but alas that is the world we live in today.

Yep thats what I figured, thanks for the replies. Actually I did a search on here and saw tons of info already out on this, shoulda done that first, newbie mistake..sorry...
