Hi to everyone here:
I have been a long time reader here and figured I would finally say hello. The old man was the type of guy that taught me that it was better to say little and listen lots so it has taken me a while to introduce myself. I was raised by a rabid gun collector, activist, competitor, and reloader, so growing up, cool firearms were present and plentiful. There was always lots to listen to from Dad regarding gun laws and the stripping of our rights. As far back as I can remember, Dad was dictating letters to Mom, and fighting the good fight. Some of his peers have even referred to him as a pioneer. How many of you remember the old "All those in favour of gun control, raise your right hand" bumper sticker featuring Hitler? Lots of people didn't listen to his warnings years ago and are now bummed, including me (you know, warnings that we would lose to right to have the really cool stuff). We never did get to shoot together very much, but I did get drafted to help him out with his projects at the local club on a regular basis. After losing him 18 months ago, my interest in firearms came back with a vengeance. I renewed my expired FAC to the new PAL/RPAL. Although I didn't inherit some of his tastes, I have been bitten hard by the "anything semi auto in black" bug. I must admit that I do have a certain fondness for stainless pieces as well.
My wife will probably do her PAL/RPAL (she seems to like having a 9mm in her hand) this year and I'll probably start my daughter of with a little .22 as well.
Thanks to everyone on this site for all the entertainment and education I have enjoyed since I started doing my best imitation of an info sponge. Also thanks for helping me find the fuel to further my growing addiction.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year ahead.
