Hi everyone,

My name is Rob and I've just been bit by the collecting/shooting bug. I've admired military rifles for a long time, and recently purchased an excellent example of a lovingly preserved Garand. I also joined Milsurps.com, and hope to get access to the EE section of this site because I'm looking forward to adding a '1903' and a k98k to my gun safe, so they can all exchange war stories...

So far the feedback and willingness on the part of members to share information and experience has been tremendous. What a great community - I'm proud to be a part of it.

I think a decent, all-matching garand which has a very-good bore condition might be worth in the high hundreds. paying $1000 would mean that you have an all-original, all-matching (serial #'d) Garand which has original cartouches and only a bit of wear evidence. some people seem to think they can get $1400-1600 but they're pushing their luck. however, demand and supply seem to vary so this could change one way or another in 6 months... if you're looking, get access to the "equipment and exchange" section of the site - you'll need to view the FAQ section in order to find out specifically how to apply.
