Well I know that there has been some discussion about these scopes. Some good, some bad. I'd like to hear from any dealers in Cdn? and some first hand experience from owners. The other scope in the running is the Leupold MRT 1.5X5. I'm looking at the IOR 1.1X4 or the 4X.

Peter Dobson from Hirsch Precision mailed my 1.1-4X26 today. Excellent service.

I'l give you my impressions on the scope when I'l get it.

I own four, and rreally like them.
They are clearr, robust, and accurate.
The 35mm tube on my 9-36X is fantastic.
The scopes are heavy, as are the mounts, but they are true military style sniper scopes.
Don't buy one if you want sleek and pretty.

Catnthehatt,
I really like my 6-24x50 (35mm) tube. But I think you got me beat with your "Hubble"!
What do you have it mounted on?

I have two. I like them both. I have a hunting 4x32 and an M1 4x. Like cat said, the military ones are beefy, but mine ia on a top of an M14 and so far... so good.

I had one. Nice optics, nice reticle, finish could be better. I found the sighting system "different". I sold it before I ever did get it truly set up (only hit the range once). I still don't really know how it works.

I have used it on my .223 12BT Savage, and My .308 Sportco, my 300WSM 950T , also on my 6.5WSM target rifles.
At the moment I am using it as my "accuracy test scope", so it is sitting on top of my 6.5X55 CZ .
An uglier combination cannot be conceived!!
However, it will let me know just how accurate the rifle is!:D

Thank you for the request to speak to IOR, which we have been selling for a few years. As we are heavily involved with Lapua civilian and military business, we proceeded cautiously. What I do know is that they are comparable with the best scopes and are in most cases, superior, having Scott glass(Zeiss), acknowledged as the the world leader in optics.

Their evolution is noteworthy and some sniper sites have been singing praises. There has been much feedback from U.S tactical shooters and IOR is responding with products for the N. American market.

I have a 35mm tubed 6-24X42 on my BAT .338LM and this works well to the longest distance tested, 1240m at Gagetown while demoing sniper ammo. Also use a tac 1.1-4 on a 6.5X55SE custom Win 70 with Lothar Walther barrel.

Sales are increasing monthly, mainly to those who have done homework.

I think IOR scopes are "neat" and will continue to increase inventory.

Thanks for the reply, any chance of getting a price list? I'm interested in the 1.1X4(CQB reticle) and the 4X24 M1 (.308) CQB reticle.PM me or I can send ya a email?

I just recieved my IOR 1.1-4X and this thing is an incredible piece of equipment.

It is a bit heavy but looks and feels extremely solid. I haven't installed it on my rifle yet but it is very easy to quickly aim at something close with both eyes open. The illumination isn't quite useful in very bright conditions but the thick donut makes it very easy to use anyways and the donut will turn white when "over" something dark. And the illumination is still powerful enough to be bright red under artificial lighting conditions.

The reticle has a drop compensating system that is quite similar to the ACOG's with horizontal lines that represents a person's shoulder width from 400 to 800 meters with 100 meters increments. There is also a line for 300 meters and you can use the donut reticle to calculate the distance.

I can't wait to try it at the range.

I've got the 223 CQB reticle that is IMO way better than the CQB reticle.

(I couldn't find any pics of the 223 CQB reticle so this is a quick photoshop)

OK do they have the CQB for a .308? I've been using SWFA.com to get an idea of the reticle designs, can Pete get any reticle? His prices are right inline with the US sellers.

I think that this is the only reticle it comes with.

If you want the previous CQB reticle in mils and do the estimations and compensation yourself, you should look for a previous generation IOR 1.1-4X26 scope or another model.

Strabismo, I have been looking at the IOR as a possibility as a variable scope for one of my AR. I would be very interested to read a range report. FWIW the other scope I'm thinking about is the Meopta K-dot.

Peter,
Any experience with the 2.5-10x42 Illuminated MP-8 scope. Thinking of using it for an AR/Stag application.
