We are obliged to advise that our dealings with IOR have ended. We haven't bought for over a year as they have too many failures and the warranty service is considerably less than satisfactory. They just returnmed a new 4-28X56 and fairly new 16X42 that were sent to Romania August 28, 2008. They failed to honour warranty on a new 4-28X56, even thouh these scopes were known to be faulty. We sent a lightly used 4-14X42 to them on Sepember 30th 2008 and this week, after many inquiries, were informed the scope was abused! There were no marks or visible damage.

When we dealt with IOR Valdada USA, they would simply replace faulty scopes. The Romanians claim a 3 week turn around. BS, 200 days if you are lucky!

We are selling what we have at cost, but the buyers will have to deal with warranty, as we don't have time for 2/3 year long battles.

We have detailed files on our dealings, which make for quite a novel.

Moosetracker, you are welcome. It's really unfortunate, as I like their optics and features and have a 4-14X42, 9-36X56 and just sold a 6-24X40. Just hope they don't break.

Regards,

Peter

As an unsponsored contribution. Perter is 100% correct. IORs warrantee is terrible! Their ability to communicate is also terrible. I wonder about the companys organization. Seems VERY unorganized!

I had an IOR 1-4x26 that went all blurry - IOR puts a SN on their optics, mine was 04004. Well, it took 11 months to get back. Durring that time they lost it & never found it. After 4-5 months of them 'LOOKING' for it I wrote them a "nasty gram" as a consumer and they finally just shipped me a new one. I appreciate the new one and they made the right choice by sending me a new scope but 11 months and 6 months of looking for the lost scope?

I would venture to guess they dont actually have an RMA program, their warrantee is basically seen by them as a neusance.

I have to give 2 thumbs up tp Peter Dobson for his help on the issue. Great guy and stuck it out with me on the whole process.

I do like some of their optics, BUT in light of their disreguard for the customer - I will never purchase another IOR product again or recomend anyone else buy one either.

I know that CanAm will be bringing them in. I wish them luck. I see:

-customers being refused RMAs and loosing 1000+ dollar scopes for BOGUS excuses.
-LONG RMAs for the accepted return/warrantee work.

This in turn will piss off Customers and create alot of usless work and stress for CanAm.

For 1000+ bucks people should not be screwed arround with warrantee work.

My final input. Buyers - use caution with IOR. Our importers are trying to get new products on the market BUT of their hands are tied then it becomes your problem and your money.....

I hope CanAm has better luck with IOR and I think they will represent buyers to the best of their ability.

Thanks hfp75. Interestngly, we asked IOR about CanAm being an IOR dealer and received ths repsonse:
Dear Peter,
Thank you for your e-mail.
The answer is no.
Until now we don't start the commercial relation with Canadian Ammo.
We are still waiting an answer from them.
We will wait this answer until 01/05/2009 and after that we will see.
Best regards,
IOR SA
Dan

There are and will continue to be other IOR product requiring warranty and as stated, we are no longer a dealer and wish someone else would deal with this. My comments in the dealer section were erased. Some people can't deal with reality!

We have a few IORs at cost, but buyer beware!
