Just started reloading for my Shadow and Shadow 2. Using Campro 9mm 124 gr RN, Hogdon Titegroup and whatever SP primers I can get at a reasonable price. Lately that's been S+B and Federal SP. And range brass which I sort.

Did the bullet push test on my CZ Shadow 2 and it came in at 1.15. (Think it may have come in about the same on my Shadow but don't have my load book on hand.) I'd heard the CZ Shadow liked shorter COALs. Campro also recommend OAL of 1.12. So have been experimenting btwn 1.117 and 1.122 OALs thus far. But recently heard others were loading up to 1.135 OAL for their S2.

My 9mm loads thus far. Campro 124 gr RN. 3.8 to 3.9 gr Titegroup. 1.117 to 1.122 OAL. S+B and Federal SP primers. Crimp .376. Just received my Chrono and haven't had a chance to test these loads yet. Was told it should be well above minimum PF but won't know for sure til I Chrono it. So far zero issues and decent groups with above test/practice loads.

Interested to hear what other IPSC Campro titegroup loaders have found groups and works best in their Shadow 2's and of course will still take steel poppers at distance down?

OAL and load data is specifically to your gun. so asking someone else really doesn't give you much. what you have been doing is good. as far as IPSC goes, as long as your load is accurate, and with little recoil which help you shoot fast and stay on targets, then you are good. given it's 9mm, unless you are going to load major, velocity doesn't really make any difference.

Yes have already read his posts. Thx. They're excellent, but looking specifically for other IPSC loaders findings re OAL and load data using Campro and titegroup for their S2s.

The go to production loads I always assumed were:
147gn over 3.3 titegroup
124gn over 4.0 titegroup
You can reduce by a tenth or two but you will be getting close to 125pf if you do

In both my original Shadow and Shadow 2 I run 147 campro over 3.3gn of Titegroup at 1.110 and they give me 131 pf, when tested at our last Level 3 match it made 134 pf on the match Chrony. I developed a 124 load so I had one in case I had trouble getting the 147's I prefer and it ended up being 4.0 gn @1.140 which was also 131 pf, the 3.8 I tested at that time also made pf @ 128 but that is a bit closer than I would like to cut it for discrepancies between Chrony's.

Good info, Thx Guys!

Have stocked up on the Campro 124 RN at a good price, but also have some HP and 147 gr I will test and compare to the 124s.

Chilidip, Your 124 gr @ 1.140 OAL load compares with a couple other IPSC Shadow 2 loaders who advised they were loading to 1.135 OAL. This longer OAL length also seems to make more sense given my bullet push test which came in at 1.15 OAL. Will start loading some a bit longer till I find the length that groups and works best in my S2.

Prior to loading I was using FOC reloads. Which I liked a lot and found grouped and ran very well in both my Shadows. They also use Campro 124 RN @ 1.117 OAL and are apparently made by and for IPSC shooters. This is the reason I started with the shorter OAL. My current above noted loads run really well in my Shadows and group well, but find the groups are still not quite as tight as my FOC groups ...yet. Hence my interest what OAL other IPSC Campro Shadow owners have found works best for them.

Curious, anyone know what powder the FOC reloads are using? Maybe I'll pull a couple and see what's what but other than titegroup don't have any experience with other powders yet.

147s I load at 1.12 and 124's I load at 1.14. Works in all my guns, including Shadow 2.
I prefer the 147s for steel targets, being that the flat nose tends to push more energy instead of deflect off of it. Great for when I'm totally messing up and winging one off the side of a popper. :)

Here is my reload data for Cz Shadow
CamPro 124grn HP
Titegroupe 4.2grn
COL 1.115"
Whichever primer I can get my hands on but mostly S&B, CCI 500 and Dominion

Needless to say I shot production minor. I used to reload at 4.00grn but that load did not cycle my 92FS reliable and to be honest I like the snappy slide with 4.2grn.

Curious, do you guys that shoot IPSC go for power factor or accuracy when loading?

I personally just load for 128-130 PF and leave it at that. Plenty accurate out to 25 yards.

I generally target a load that makes 130pf as my starting point and then test that load and a couple more each with 0.1 gn more. So say 3.3gn makes 130pf I then test 3.3, 3.4 & 3.5 to see if the groups tighten up considerably with one of those loads.
