so I remember making a motion sometime ago at an AGM, that was approved, for all our match signup forms to be made the same, and online fillable. still nothing has been done. Hell Omens got his nice little signup page that works great, yet BC still has a bunch of different forms from each club, each one slightly different, and so far none have been fillable online or on my computer. How hard is it for IPSC BC to just issue a form for clubs to use, with blank, fillable spaces for different mailing addresses and club names? My writing sucks and is barely legible, I feel sorry for whomever has to try and decipher it when I send in my hand filled out form.
anyone?

A generic form has been made available. It is a club decision to use it. Most prefer to use there own custom one. You will note that the information that is asked is nearly the same on every form. Is it really that onerous of task to fill out a form?

I can not resist; How hard is it to write your name and other information legibly so that it can read?

hard, very hard. I hate writing. that's what keyboards are for. you've seen my match registrations and know how crappy my writing is. Having a long address makes it even worse. so yeah, having it as a fillable PDF would be nice. or just use Omens sign up page, it works quite well.

hey Rob, two suggestions for you and i am not being a smart ass.

suggestion one is make the form up and send it to the clubs to use.

suggestion two, make up a generic form, fill out your info and then when signing up for a match fill in whatever else is needed and send it off. i use to do this with our alberta registration, but it was easier since we use one form normally. i would just call up the forms for me and C, fill in the match date etc, print it off and send in with a cheque. the printing part was probably the longest.

of course now that we have joined the 21 century, we don't have to deal with all of that. you clicked on the slot you want, click on the link for the on line registration (which is cookie based so keeps your information for next time) and go to your banking website and send an EMT (or for those who are still using 20 century technology have to fill out a cheque and send it in.) ok, i am bragging but damn it is nice when you have the help of good volunteers who are willing to put the time in to make things go easy!

In order to make a fillable pdf form, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Professional. IPSC BC does not have that software. I don't have it, either.

well how about the system Walter uses. I'd love to be able to EMT my money for a match.

It's being used here from everything to Level 1'a to Level 3's (and even 3 guns)

I'd guess about half of the clubs in Ontario are now using it. It's a definite time saver.

It's flexable enough for the MD to accomodate those who still wish to sign up by email or phone (system allows for the Admin/MD to just add those names) and it even has functionality for manditory prepayments (system gives the user a PIN and it's not activated by the admin/MD until your payment is recieved)

It's doesn't handle the actual processing of the payment...that would be up to the club or arrange (EMT etc)

Omen continues to add features (newest one is maps and driving directions)

Very usefull tool...well worth considering

Cheers

the only bad thing about EMT's is that unless you banking with one of the big 5 you have to pay $1.50 to download to any other bank. IPSC Alberta uses HSBC so we cannot download directly to them. we have to download to my CIBC account then write a cheque to IPSC Alberta. since i have one of those unlimited account not a big deal except for having to track it.

sounds like an invitation, IPSC BC becomes a member of IPSC Ontario and gets to use online sign up. :bigHug:

Well...as much as we'd like to take the credit...this is not an IPSC Ontario program.

Omen did this on his own...and offered it to the MD's. We give it our full support...and he continues to come up with improvements.

If other sections are interested in using it, just send him an email or a PM.

Email is so 2005
