There's a black badge course scheduled for November 26/27 at AMA in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. (Across the harbor from Halifax)
This is the course that you need in order to shoot IPSC matches.
If you're in PEI or NB and this course is more convenient than one in NB, you're welcome to take this one. We'll make arrangements with the NB section so you join them in the process. (But by all means, if there's one there you can take - go ahead - we're not in competition
)
Cost is $120, Pre-registration is mandatory as is a non-refundable deposit at that time of $50.
You have to have the following:
A centerfire handgun; 9mm or bigger caliber.
A holster that protects the trigger guard of the gun.
At least 2 magazines or speed loaders and pouches to hold them - but the more you have, the easier it is for you.
400 rounds of ammunition
eye and ear protection.
Ability to attend all day Saturday and Sunday, and write an open book test on Saturday night.
If you're missing any of the physical items above, (except the gun) I can usually source loaners or stuff you can purchase - so just let me know.
