Im taking the Black Badge course this weekend at the Kelowna range....Looking forward to it!!...Im just wondering if anyone else on here is taking it as well....If so..What is your pistol of choice??..Im using an M&P 40...See you there...Wes

So I successfully completed the Black Badge course...Thanks to Nick and Marcy King and also Mark Sheridan(?)...Nick told us to call him the Aussie convict..lol.....The course was great and I learned a lot but I think if it was a 3 day course instead of 2 it would have been better as we would have had more time to practice.....My M&P40 shot well with no FTF or FTE with minor ammo....BUT I found out the hard way that M&P mags aren't very sturdy....I broke 2 of my 5 mags during the course from them hitting the cement floor of the indoor range during reloads.....Luckily there was someone else in the class shooting an M&P40 who let me use one of his mags when he wasn't shooting...Also the damn mag disconnect in the M&P was a pain is the ass.....I think Im gonna drink the CZ Shadow Kool Aid and buy one for my qualification match in the new year.....

Shadow mags also break easy. If you drop them on concrete say goodbye to the plastic piece.

Not too sure if it would make a difference, but what if you put a light coating of Plastidip on the bottom of the mag? Congrats on passing the course :)

FYI....For anyone thinking about taking the Black Badge course in the Kelowna area Nick will be teaching a few more courses early in the new year and then that's it for awhile as he will be practicing for Team Canada for the 2014 Worlds....Here are the dates and spots open:

Feb 22/23 - 1 pending payment 7-8 spaces

Mar 15/16 - 2 paid 6 spaces

Heres the email if you are interested....Marcy can give you all the info you need......kingauto@uniserve.com

Hi Wes, it was nice meeting you at the IPSC course in Kelowna. I enjoyed watching you and Glen shoot your "mirror" targets all weekend! Hope to see you next year at one of the qualifiers.
