IPSC & IDPA Stages

Well IMHO why re-invent the best wheel going ... That is to say I recommend to ALL my action shooters at my club that they take the BB course because it really is like no other in the world. It is by far the best ... So what I would like to see is the BB course open for all who want it to take without the extra cost of IPSC membership for those who do not wish to shoot IPSC. This would serve the shooting community as a whole by improving the quality and safety of the shooters and would also act as a fundraiser for IPSC too. A win win IMHO.

Tim the BB course and NSO course are virtually identical save and except the BB course deals with IPSC rules while the NSO course deals with IDPA rules. Neither course ensures shooters will be safe. If they did you wouldn't see as many DQ's as we do for unsafe gun handling. IDPA won't be insisting IDPA shooters take the BB course anytime soon and I doubt IPSC would be inclined to mandate the NSO course for their members.

Take Care

Why would anyone not interested in the sport waste the money on a BB course? They could instead spend that money on an actual shooting course where the two days was spent just doing that, not reading a rule book that had zero application outside of the sport.

I've never understood that either but it happens all the time, some want to try it out to see if they will like it and that's cool, but there are others that take the course and have no intention of shooting matches.
Long ago there wasn't many other options in Canada, but now there are...

I agree it sure would be a win win for all shooters take the BB course, if you want to shoot IPSC pay membership, and have a lot of fun :dancingbanana:

If there was no other option than I could understand, however in this day and age there are tons of other options. If a person has an intererst in the sport, but is not committed, then sure, but beyond that take a shooting course.
