Hey gang, for those who have a shotgun, have heard of a shotgun or would like to this is the match for you!!

The first ever in Ontario (Canada??) Level III shotgun match is now open for registration. It will be held at the Crumlin Sportsmen's Association in London Ontario August 24th to 26th. You only shoot one of the days.

14 stages of Scattergun fun!

Do not be intimidated by it being a Level III, come on out. Heck use a lumber pouch if you want to for holding shells (or borrow some from some of our volunteers)

It would be great to have some out of province shooters come out to this match as we are hoping it can be a stepping stone to holding an actual NATIONALS in the next two years!

If you are at all interested please feel free to PM me with questions!

Do you need IPSC classification for this, or would any classification (like IDPA) be sufficient?

6.5.1 All competitors and Match Officials must be individual members of the IPSC Region in which they normally reside. Residency is defined as the Region where the individual is ordinarily domiciled for a minimum of 183 days of the twelve months immediately preceding the month in which the match begins. Ordinarily domiciled condition is a physical presence test and does not relate to citizenship or to any address of convenience. The 183 days need not be consecutive or the most recent 183 days of the twelve month period .

6.5.1. 2 Competitors who ordinarily reside in a country or geographical area which is not affiliated to IPSC may join an IPSC affiliated Region and may compete under the auspices of that Region, subject to the approval of the IPSC Executive Council and the Regional Director of that Region. If a competitor's country or geographical area of residence subsequently applies for affiliation to IPSC, the competitor must become a member of that Region during the affiliation process.

Mr Stormbringer,

What if I don't care to compete in handgun, and just want to shoot long gun IPSC.
I have non restricted shotguns and rifles that are perfect for the sport.

Seeing as the Black badge course is 99.9% handgun oriented, is there a black badge option for me?

Been looking to Ontario to lead the way to come up with a long gun BB since their S/C asked (and was happily granted!) permission to develop one back in 2013.
Have we finally found a volunteer? :d

There's quite a bit I'd like to say about this, but not the time or place.
The volunteer has always been there, and still is.

I'll message you offline, lets find a way to get as many people into this match as possible.

oooh looking forward to hearing about more of these! I had a ton of fun last year shooting IPSC shotgun in Europe a couple times. I'd intended to head to the Worlds, but didn't go.

I cant wait, already signed up. I have a question about ammo tho, do we need buckshot and if so what brand do most people use? is there a reduced recoil like the S and B slugs?

I can’t validate if you will require buckshot for the match but S&B makes reduced recoil 9 shot buck as well.

Win lite is a brand of decent reduced recoil buck that’s not terribly expensive

Well this is interesting. My competitive itch is...itching again, and my supernova has been woefully neglected lately.

Now I ran the BB course successfully last year (may 2017) with Kent, but I haven't shot a match yet, so I still have my blue card sitting somewhere in the garage. Would I have to run the full course over again?
