So I have my IPSC BC membership and just finished my black badge and 2 qualifiers. I will be in Alberta near Brooks in August and I see they have matces going. My question is, will I need to get an IPSC Alberta membership plus pay the match fees or is my IPSC BC membership good to shoot in other provinces? There is no link that I can see for registration yet so not sure how to proceed. Hoping all you seasoned IPSC dudes that do alot of travel can chime in. Thanks.

Your membership in IPSC BC is good for shooting at IPSC AB matches.

Registration for IPSC AB matches is all done by computer. Go to the IPSC AB website and become a member, then you will be able to register once the registration opens. Typically registration will open 3 weeks before the match date. Send in your payment by EMT (info on the website) and you are done.

A week-end match in Alberta will be 2 separate matches. You can of course choose to only shoot one day. You will need to be on the range for the entire day of the match (you will shoot in the morning and work in the afternoon, or the reverse).

More info is available on the IPSC AB website.

Yup what Ralph said. IPSCalberta.com

Also note this, since you're new to IPSC you may not care about classification and just want to shoot, but just so you know read this:

Competitors wishing to compete at matches outside of their home province, (B.C. and Alberta) will need to obtain a classification by shooting a minimum of two [2] matches in the match province. Prior to obtaining a classification in the “match” province a competitor will shoot as Unclassified or Grand Master.

To add to Ralph's post once again. The AB provincials are held over 2 days, but it is all 1 match. The rest of the qualifiers are seperate matches each day.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I will join the website. I have shot two matches so I assume I will be classified?

If they were Alberta matches then yes, you should be. If they were not in AB then no.

P.S. If they were in AB PM me your real name and I should be able to look it up on the site and see if you're classed. I can't promise it though.
