This is a for the production shooters heading to Greece, or anyone who has some knowledge in the matter.

I've been reading the rule book, and will be researching/asking on GV, but wanted to ask here as well.

I'm shooting a CZ Shadow.
I think pretty much everyone I have ever encountered has changed the main and recoil springs. From what I am reading in the rule book and what I have heard from other sources, the 13lb main and 11lb recoil springs are not legal in Production due to the fact that they are not offered by CZ.

CZ Custom does not count.
So, should I be putting the stock springs back in and getting used to them before heading to Greece?

Magazines.
the rules state that the max mag capacity is 15 for production.
Should I be arranging to have 15 round mags available to me in Greece?
Will anyone else from Canada be doing this?
Do you thing there is any significant advantage in doing so?

Not sure how the match designers will be setting things up but I can foresee getting there and finding myself in a situation where I am forced to make a static reload during the long courses of fire.
Maybe I will just need a couple extra mags and better stage management.
we'll see.

Any thoughts?
what are other production shooters doing?

Thanks
Paul

Huh? Your saying all of Canadians are cheaters but get "clean" before a big match out of the country? The springs are fine as long as they are CZ springs.

Increase your magazine capacity by 50% might help you out. Sure I could see that.

Not saying Canadians are cheaters. I am trying to see if I am misinterpreting the rules or if in fact what has become common practice is actually not appropriate.

19. Original parts and components offered by the OFM as standard equipment,
or as an option, for a specific model handgun on the IPSC approved
handgun list are permitted...

Like I mentioned, CZ custom is not OFM and I haven't found out yet if CZ offers replacement springs in those weights.

Am I wrong here?

Although I think I could give Eric G a run for his money while using my shadow in open, I'd rather give Adam Tyc the sweats in production.

You have obviously been reading the same threads on GV I was.

It is all too confusing. According to the more recent comments from Vince those springs are not legal. Nor is the polishing and metal work a lot of guys are doing. Neither is clipping coils off the mainspring.

Despite these clarifications by Vince a lot of guys I know claim all of the above are legal ??

Like I said it is too confusing.

I hear now that some of these springs are being offered by CZ-UB. If you can find them listed in a CZ-UB catalog or website you just have to point it out to Vince and he will give the thumbs up.

John

I hope CZ-UB is offering these.

I'll have to do some digging.

Side note, I'm still shooting your old shadow John.
Great gun

Arranging 15 round magazines is very important. As is rethinking how you approach stages with those mags in place.
