Iam a new IPSC guy, only my second year. Iam not sure how to figure out my major or minor. I shoot production 40sw Beretta Brigadier.

There is NO Major Power Factor required for Production Category. However, there is a Minimum Minor Power Factor required for this category, which is minimum of 125 PF. To simplify, you dont have to worry abour major power factor, just make sure that your round power factor does not go below the 125 and you should be good to go. 125 PF should be easy to acquire in 40SW rounds.

Good luck and shoot safely :)

Ditto; everyone in Production is scored the same anyway, so it doesn't make any SENSE to reload to Major (if you reload); if you don't reload, just use the load that you feel is most accurate and gives you the least recoil.

With downloaded .40, you will unlikely see any ammo reliably function your pistol that is aproaching a PF of 125. I'd be willing to bet you will be in the 135 - 140 range before your pistol starts to gag on the rounds.

Hook up with a club member that has or has access to a chronograph. Have him shoot your gun though it and see what you've got for velocity; the rest of the answer is above.

I do reload but for matches Ive been using Wolfe Reloaded stuff, I cant remeber what the load was though. I think I will get a chronogragh and teach myself proper load measuring, any advice on a good one.
