Hi everyone,

Is the CZ Shadow 2 Orange or Canadian worth the extra money? This gun will be used in IPSC Production.

It'll take a talented shooter to see the difference between the regular S2 and the S2 Orange, when sending rounds downrange. How much experience do you have?

I don't know if the Canadian has the hand fitted slide or not. If not, I think it's just cosmetic changes, so it's up to you.

If you're new-ish, maybe find an optics ready S2 and use that. You can play in Production Optics too, if you wish.

Slavex will be around at some point, and he knows about the internals.

I think the Canadian is just cosmetic where the orange has some performance benifits

Turning the Shadow 2 up a notch, the biggest addition on the Orange is a barrel bushing that increases slide-to-barrel fit, resulting in tighter groups. Not as obvious is a factory-tuned trigger with short reset and the hand-fitting of the slide and frame

I don't have a lot of experience. I do shoot a Glock35 that I like, but I want to start shooting 9mm.

I've shot Cz shadow1 Canadian, and I was impressed by how well I shot. The trigger and little recoil impressed me.

The stock shadow 2 is a fantastic gun in itself.I find it hard to believe that the premium paid for the orange or Canadian versions will give you any sort of advantages. My Shadow 2s are among the most accurate guns ive owned and the extra accuracy gained from the "upgraded"version is pretty academic anyways when it comes to IPSC.Take the money and spend it on practice ammo rather.

of the 14 Shadow and Shadow 2s I own the Orange Shadow 2 is miles ahead of any of them out of the box. Accuracy with the Orange 2 is 50% better or more. The trigger out of the box was ridiculously good. I've done similar to my other guns, but this needed nothing done. Slide, barrel and frame fitting were the best I've had, and that includes having taken 2 Shadows and 2 Shadow 2s to the factory for tuning. Building it straight from the factory has a benefit.
Now, is it needed? nah, probably not. Will it help my score if we have an IPSC season this year? yeah probably a few points here and there. But nothing super dramatic, due to the nature of IPSC.
