That is the only conclusion I can come too.
Maybe of course it is just a subset of SHOOTERS are great people.
To shed some light on this finding I would like to publicly thank.
IPSIK (Mike)
Doubletap Sports (Josko)
and
relliot (Rob).
When my kids first started to show an interest in shooting IPSC (Fall 2006) things were going pretty swell for my son (Diablo). However my daugther (Trinity Angel) was having a terrible time even getting on Paper.
As you can imagine a father can have a real hard time in teaching one teen aged child let alone brother and sister at the same time.
Rob heard of my dillema and volunteered to help her out... A quick trip to Guelph and an hour or so later she was printing on target and both my kids were able to get their black badges.
Fast forward to the Provincials this past September.
What with preparing for the Provincials I was not able to get either of them out for practice at all during the summer. Heck the only match Diablo and I shot from May till September was the Nationals!
As such my shooting was down........and theirs had deteriorated as well.
As it happens they were squadded with Josko and Mike.
They both noted how they were struggling. Specially Trinity Angel who what with the pressures of University was at risk of giving up shooting due to frustration.
Once the provincials were out of the way I recieved an invite to take the kids to Guelph for some one on one training for the both of them...
That happened yesterday........All I can say is THANK YOU GUYS!
Both of the kids made some dramatic improvements to their shooting and in particular their outlook! I have resisted telling them that they are now doing some of the things that I have been "suggesting" for some time now. I can safely say that it was the gentle style of these gentlemen that got through to both of them. Not to mention that they are top shooters in their own right.
The only down side is now BOTH of them want NEW GUNS and gear after trying out the selection that they were allowed to try!!
As an added bonus Rob was at the range as was able to give Diablo some "hints" in terms of self defense methods. (he has been attacked three times in the past two weeks at school. But that is a different story.
The bottom line here is we have a group of VERY accomplished shooters giving of their free time to help my kids.
I cannot express (well I guess I just did) how much that means to me and my family. I very much enjoy shooting and doing it with my two kids makes it all the better. To have others take an interest in helping them (and thereby me) achieve this is more than I can thank...........
Mike, Josko, Rob............thank you from both me and my wife.
