Iraqi tariq 9mm?

I picked one up for cheap but dont no anything about it like how much they cost or if anyone even likes them any info would be greatly appreciated !

It's an Iraqi version of a Beretta 1951, the predecessor of the 92 series with the heel button mag release. Should work like any other 92 version. Make sure you lube the slide rails before shooting. 92s like to run wet.

They sell at reasonable prices when they appear, however they are worth a gorillion dollars each in USA if anyone checked as of late...

That's nuts the price for them down there....2000 to 5000 upon briefly looking I remember a few wears back they were 199 each or 2 for 300...what a joke these pistols are junk along with the tokarev

There must have been a lot of bring backs from Desert Storm! They would be lying all over the ground!

From what I heard they weren't ever supplied in great quantities. When Sadam took over he made sure of that it seems. I talked with a fellow that was an Iraqui police officer. He managed to get his family out before 9 11 and went to the UK, then to the US from there. His take on the Tariq was that is was a very reliable weapon as long as it was well maintained by the user. The biggest issue was lack of ammunition and the quality of ammo when they got it. The pistols work well with 9mmNato standard ammo. They are fussy about some commercial offerings.

Tradex and Marstar had a few that they sold off at reasonable prices.

Those very expensive Tariq pistols you see for sale in the US will only bring those prices IF they have verifiable "bring back provenance." Other than that, I believe Century sold off thousands at lower prices than the Canadian outlets did.

As far as the Tokarev being junk??????????????????????? Someone is misinformed there as well. May not be flossy and glossy like commercial offerings but they work first time/every time as long as the OPERATOR maintains them properly.

Will you also tell us simple folks what pistols are not junk for the purpose of collecting and investing, as clearly $199 to $3000 price increase is not worth our attention.
