Iron cross stamp on Remington 572 Fieldmaster

Hi all,

I have just noted something on my Remington Fieldmaster 22 that I am curious about. It has an Iron Cross on the barrel with an Rep beside it. I am just wondering what the significance of that stamp or is it standard on these guns

REP is Remington standard proof marking I believe. Any pics of this so-called iron cross?

As already pointed out, the REP is a proof mark and the cross is likely the inspectors stamp. Each inspector will have their own stamp symbol.
