I never made it to the range the weekend of the 10th. A hot water heater problem and new storm door got in the way. The weekend of the 18th was consumed by a pheasant hunt. I did however manage to hit the range today (Cold and windy, but suitable for chrony and short range iron sights work).
Since my last post I managed to replace the Norc flash hider with a USGI unit. After replacing the hider, I found that my muzzle style laser bore sighter would not work at all (USGI flash hider bore diameter is significantly smaller, hence the mandril would not reach the crown of the barrel). About the time that I replaced the hider, my Cabela's chamber style laser bore sigher arrived. The chamber style bore sighter indicated that I needed to center both rear and front sights to obtain alignment.
At the range, with both sights centered, 50yd shots were 5 inches left. Two rear sight line increments (pretty significant) were required to center shots at 50yds. The whole front sight platform still appears canted to the right (to me), so I'm thinking there may still be an indexing issue going on here.
