iron sights on a sl8-4/-6

Hi,

im wondering if its possible to mount some iron sights on a SL8-4 or -6 rail?

will it be accurate at all or just a waste of time?

or

would it be better to just get a low power scope with a German #1 aka 3-post reticule scope or is the -5 rail the only way to get iron sights on the rifle?

You can order a G36 rail with iron sights on it. wolverine supply had them.

The SL8-5 had a set of "irons" on a long rail... there is one I believe at Epps (contrib. dealer) in their parts section... $100 for the rail and irons.

I'm not a fan of the HK irons, the rear aperature has a square out line that blocks some of your view during target acquisition and the front sight blade is quite thick. I found them kinda sloppy but YMMV. I suggest a decent set of BUIS on the factory rail would be better. The SL8 is meant for optics though, it shines with a nice scope.
