Back to my shot gun purchase.

again keeping in mnd that this shot gun will be used to hunt deer in southern Ontario.
Personally I think I am leaning towards the iron sights because weather can be unpredictable and the bush pretty thick.

Any thoughts out there????

thanks for your input kenny.
I think most "slug" guns come with tapped recievers.

How do you like your remmy if you are still using it??????

if i were to go to an auto, my friends would atest, I would have to bring 100 to 200 rounds a day for the deer hunt. sorry inside joke. I have the habbit of running out of ammo. I got clued in when i red Bigreds piece on plastic build up. That would explain why after the first couple shots the rifled chocked gun was shootin all over the place. hehehehehe.

I have been thinking about an auto but I dont know of a good one that is inexpensive!!! and how the gass system would handle the plastic build up?????????????????

I have 2 slug guns that have the saddle mount on them. I like them, and are pretty ding dang close when you take them off for hunting birds etc. Sometimes wish I had the cantilever but I think there is not much accuracy differance between the cantilever and the saddle mounts. As a buddy found out though, loc-tite the mounts as they come loose real fast under the brutal recoil. One gun has a red dot on it, (smoothbore shooting challengers), and the other, a rifled barrel, has an older bushnell 2 - 7 power on it (shooting partition gold slugs). I want to give the Remington core-lokt ultras a try again, but I think Bigredd could give you all the info you need on shooting sabots!
