So here I sit, with the reloading set up many drool over.

How am I making test ammo for tomorrow?

I'm seating primers manually with a friggen steel dowel, measuring powder direct to my scale by hand, and tapping the seating die over the case with a recoilless hammer.

Forgetabout it. I'll have two starting loads with two different powders to test in the morning. The rest can wait until the friggen shellplate arrives.

And where's your single stage backup press?
Sometime's lowtech beat's notech

+1, you always have to have at least one basic single stage for the low volume/oddball/load development work. For the cost of a Lee Classic Cast press how could anyone justify not having one handy?

I can't remember what i did with my old Lyman Spartan. I half wonder if I didn't leave it in the old house.

I just ordered one of the Smart Reloading presses from CI Distributing, along with a kinetic hammer to replace a broken one, and a set of electonic muffs, just cuz.

Yep. It's been a parade of fail.

I thought I could just piece together the parts instead of buying a whole conversion kit. I got a used shellplate....

Except it turned out to be for the RL1000, and not interchangeable with the 1050.

What could have been handled in one Dillon order turned into two plus two other side deals....

The nice thing is that it shoots better than I could have hoped. Still working up a load, but the early results are fantastic.
