LeBaron are sold out on this model. Have to start over. SIR has the 28" for just a little more coin. Hope it's in stock.

LeBaron has a synthetic mag Remi 870 on for $343.

Pretty good price...they have been $425 in the stores here.

But it has a 30" barrel. I would prefer a 28" or 26". It is 95% for trap shooting at the club. What do you think.

How hard would it be to have a gunsmith cut 2 or 3" off of it.

Does anyone have this gun? Opinions?

Thanks.

hell the 30" tube is PERFECT for trap, the longer barrels help promote follow thru and can really make the difference.

figure most true trap guns have between 30-34" barrels

And when you're tired of shooting trap, its not a bad length for Skeet either. Sure you might get the odd look from a guy shooting 24-26" tubes, but who cares if you're breaking targets.

Ok good.
I heard it helps with the 'pointing', and I could use all the help I can get.

I've been wanting an 870 for two years at least...this is the one (first one, for now). I can always get a marine/defender later.

What's an extra two inches anyway....really......

Sometimes I think to myself, gee if I only had two more inches ....

If you really feel the need for a shorter barrel, I'd buy an extra, before I cut of the end of the 30"

Also, did you try the combo from Lebaron, it comes with a slug barrel for $499, you could sell the slug barrel if it's no use to you.

Part of the appeal on the Synthetic Mag model was the fact that it eats all shells, 2.75, 3, and 3.5.

That must leave a lot of slack around the forcing cone, and chamber in general, but no one seems to complain about that.

99% of what I would shoot would be 2.75.

I can't see the need for 3.5 at all, except one or two for effect.

Maybe the standard gun in synthetic is a better choice.

I would sell the slug barrell....
