Hi there totally new to long range target and rifle shooting been a pistol guy for years and thats all

Anyways I want a good all around scope for a stg 44 .22

http://bushnell.com/hunting/rifle-scopes/legend-ultra-hd/4-5-14x-44

There so much in the market it literally blows my mind from the magnification to mil dot to moa I dont really understand any of this sort of thing been looking around and this came up today

Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14 X 44 Mil-Dot

Would this work on the stg 44 .22 and a ruger 10/22 or should I stick with just a rim fire scope made specifically for .22?

Thanks everyone

Anything would work for a semi 22. I think those are a bit big and may upset the handling of the guns you mentioned. But end of the day its your money, and if you dont like it, you can always put it on another gun.

I have the Legend HD in Mil-Dot on my Savage BTVS 22LR....beefy gun so the size of the scope doesn't look out of place on it. Works great as well...usually shoot 25 to 100 yards with the set up (can still see the .22 holes at 100 yards).

I wouldn't hesitate to put that scope on a CZ 455 or Savage Mark II, but I don't think it's a good choice for a GSG STG 44. Far too large and bulky for a semi tactical .22. A 1-4 or other low powered scope or red dot would be far more appropriate for this type of rifle. It'll look better and be much more practical.
