is a .600 caliber ball with patch sufficient for a .65 caliber smoothbore?

with a thick patch yes, I couldnt find any molds that size either.

lyman makes a .610 I beleive but thats as close as I could find.

cheers, McLean

Dixie gun works will make one for you any size just about reasonable to but you have to cut the sprue with pliers they made me a .620 one for under $100.00

I have a .625 dia Trade Musket and the only balls I have been able to find lately are .600.

If I get the patch thickness correct the accuracy is fairly good.

I would take the time to find or have a proper sized mould made for your musket. It will make life easier and it will shoot better and in the end you will be happier.
