Is a K31 more accurate than a Swedish Mauser?

buckbrush, your comment is tacky/uninformed at best. All of the rifles I supplied for that match were and still are in 98% or better condition. All were and are capable of 1 moa accuracy with handloads tailored to them.
I have a Turkish Forestry Carbine that is not very pretty on the outside but, inside is as good as they come. It is capable of astounding accuracy with 195 grain spire point bullets. It also shoots into 1 moa in the right hands. About 10 years ago, that rifle with selected loads took 6 first deer for 6 boys ranging from 10 -15 years of age. No one told them the rifle was fugly and that it shouldn't be accurate because it didn't look like it should be. All of the deer were taken at just over 100 m. All were taken with one shot.
Each of the boys had a prone position from the top of a stack of hay bales. Maybe 15 feet high and under the roof of an open sided cover. There is a trail, coming from a creek that the white tails follow like clockwork about 15 minutes after sun up, as long as the coyotes haven't been prowling the field all night.
Six mornings, six spike and two point bucks and six very excited and happy boys. All because of a much carried FRENCH built rifle that was almost a century old but blessed with an excellent bore and a cartridge loaded to complement it. It is one of my favorite rifles.
In about 30 competitions in 10 years of Milshoots at EOSC, I have observed many K31's have placing in the top three, but only one Swedish Mauser has cracked the top three spots. Our competition requires unmodified rifles of WWII or earlier vintage and does not allow use of spotting scopes or spotters and it's 10 shots in three minutes at 100 and 200 yds. You would think that without scopes, that the quality of the iron sights would be a major factor in accuracy, and the K31's sights IMO, are inferior to the No4 MkI, P14/17, Garand, etc., but the K31 does as well or better than all of those fine rifles on a consistent basis.
This is hardly scientific, and the quality of the operator is a major factor in these shoots but I'd say the K31 is inherently more accurate than the Swedish Mauser.

I agree with the comment about quality of irons sights. When I shoot a vintage match where I want a good score, I shoot a #4 or a Garand, because open sights are hopeless for my old eyes. I really like the click adjustable Garand sights.
