Is a MDT Lss chassis worth it?

Looking to upgrade my ruger american and one of the only available options is the mdt lss chassis system. Have heard good things about them but wanted some local opinions. It will be for the ranch rifle in 300 blackout . I really like the gun just wanted to make it a little prettier! Any input is appreciated! Thanks

if anyone has tried one with 300BLK specifically I would appreciate input as feed issues can be a problem with polymer mags.

Love my MDT LSS, but my son took it for his Service Rifle competitions in Vancouver Island. It's got a Remmy M700 16.5" .223 SPS Tac set up on that LSS. Now we have magazine feed with MDT's polymer .223 mags in this case but any AICS .223 magazine will serve the purpose.

My only concern is how cold that aluminum gets in the winter (Central Ontario) while coyote hunting....

Hope this will shed some light on your upgrade process to MDT LSS fun for the Ruger American....

Cheers,

The ESS is nice but the rifle is a 300 blackout so it won't be doing any precision shooting and the ESS is a little much! Also I'm taking a small gamble putting a chassis on a ranch rifle as there has been issues with the rugers in 300 blackout. The fixes are simple but not guaranteed so the ESS is a little rich for my blood.

The LSS is very good value if you are simply looking for basic features or detachable mags, or if weight is a concern. It's a simple chassis but has a lot of great features. If you compare it to other platforms it's pretty hard to beat for the price. I am torn between waiting for the ESS or just scooping a LSS. I have an irrational desire for the long handguard on the short barrel of the ranch for no reason other than aesthetics.

I had one on my MVP.

I liked it ok, and for the price it was good.

But I did have a QC issue ( which MDT fixed free and quick... But not as quick am I did with my dremel)

I did end up taking it off the rifle and selling it though.

Lockhart tactical has the lss in both colors, with shipping and a mag it's $477 canadian (been in my cart for a while ;) ). The ESS with a stock and front end is closer to $1k
