Shipping ammo is going to be expensive anyway one looks at it.
The first thing is the weight of the pkg and then the size of the pkg as well.
I have spent some time today trying to re-familiarize myself with CanPar and the web page.
I found this though stuff that can not be shipped or they choose not to ship...
https://www.canpar.ca/en/ship/what_not_ship.jsp
Then there is the section on what they will not ship by air...
A shipment is deemed unacceptable for air transportation if:
It is classified as hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (International Air Transport Association), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation), ADR (European Road Transport Regulation on dangerous goods), any applicable government department or other relevant organization.
It contains counterfeit goods, plants, animals, bullion, currency, banderols/tax stickers, bearer form negotiable instruments, precious metals and stones; real or imitation firearms, parts thereof, weapons, explosives and ammunition; human remains,
####ography, illegal narcotics/drugs, aerosols/flammable liquids (including but not limited to: dry ice, nail polish remover, nail polish, lighters and perfume) or any other item which Canpar Courier and its partners decides cannot be carried safely or legally...
I could not find the section about shipping ammo via ground though, so maybe someone who has shipped with them recently can speak to this action.
To answer the first question as to what is hazmat materials ?
The answer is here somewhere...
