I have an old Weaver K4 that fogs up.

Is it worth repairing or should I just pick up another used Leupold M8 in 4 power at the next gun show I go to? That's what I have on my three main hunting rifles now.

I'd save it for a 22 rim fire that you use on a sunny day.
I do know where there is a sweet M8 4X for sale.
Just back from the doctor'n place.

Well, I have three old Weaver K4 scopes, one on a K31 and two on the bench. If you get so's you have to have one because you like these old scopes the way I do, then I'm sure we can work something out. All of mine are genuine El Paso TX Weavers, not made in Hong Pan frawks.

Mind you, I live most of the time in yUK, when we are not in Ontario or Oregon, that is.

Did Weaver ever have scopes made in Hong Kong? The current production are made in Japan, and quite good. I like the old steel ones made in the U.S.A., too, I have more of them than the modern Japanese ones.

MD, whether it's worth repairing depends on how much you like it. I would send it to Trace Scope Repairs. If it can be fixed, he'll do it well and for a reasonable price.
