Are the newer Bisons avoided on the used market because of QA issues that hound the company ?

I have a 223 Bison I'd like to sell but don't want to have to sell a 1100 rifle for 700.

Mine works great but Aluminum AR mags move around in the mag well and make too much noise for my application.

The 20 round proprietary MRX mags are no issue though

You paid too much. The dealers are swamped with them. The AR magazine situation is really none, just use the plastic magazines and all is fine. Each gun which takes AR magazines has preferences since the design of the mag catch is not really good. I think the BCL magwell is good, the 20 rounders are cheap and other plastic magazines work well.

The competition is the Ruger American Rifle which goes for around $700 to 800 and a well proven design.

I think BCLs name got dragged down by NEAs name.

I have a Siberian and so far so good.
Seems to be better than the other two 180s I had.

Problem with used BCL or Kodiak is you don't really know if they are being sold for issues that the owner has and is just sick of trying to put lipstick on the pig or they are selling cause they need the money for something

Have to be a real #### sucker to do that

I'm afraid the only way BCL could rescue their name going forward is to pull a Toyota from the 60's...

Build stellar, reliable firearms for dirt cheap until their name is synonymous with quality. That would be a long, uphill battle.

A lot of the BCL hate comes from people who have never actually owned one. They are just repeating what they heard, or a friend of a friend, or some guy at the range that said.....

I really like my BCL102 but unfortunately the Liberals do not.

Most BCL products are avoided due to their reputation for shoddy QC, the number of QC issues people report for a gun that is not particularly cheap is nerve racking, so you see one on the EE and now whoever is buying has to ask, is that a broken gun, or is it legit? The fact that the guns are while not premium prices are not particularly competitively priced, and you can get proven alternatives at similar or lower prices.

You're right, I've never owned them. I've just fixed them. They are junk.

The Bison is a specialty gun - a novelty - that does not appeal to a lot of people. In my view, just a smaller market for it. This is more this, than anything else in my view.

I think they pretty much continued with garbage QC same as NEA.

Bought a BCL lower and it had very poor finish, every threaded hole was full of grit and I had to run a tap into all of them. Even un-threaded holes had to be chased.

My Bison bolt runs without issue , other than the AR mags flopping around a bit.
They feed fine though.
I just need one with a longer barrel
