Not sure where to ask this question since I don’t see them in business section anymore.
But I wanted to build a 10/22 so I sent a message to dlask asking if they have any barrelled receiver.
Within a few hours a Josef responded saying they do and what length of barrel I want.
I said between 12 and 16 inches is good for me. Can they provide some options and pricing and we will go from there.
Then guess what, absolute crickets since then, I followed up with email again next day, no response.
And that’s during business hours, like Tuesday to Friday. Before anyone accusing me, yes I checked spam folder (Josef’s first email came through so it wouldn’t end in spam anyway)
I had interaction with them a few years back with a Leigh too. Same kind of story, absolute silence after first round response. And I gave up.
Now again? It’s really a strange business practice

Its ½ open, ½ closing for retirement, ½ selling off existing stock, ½ maintaining a facade of still being open.

In reality it seems pretty much done, customer service was never a strong point even at the best of times.

Thanks good to know.
I’m not going to risk my money with them then

Dlask has always been great to deal. They in the process of selling all remaining stock and then retiring. If you are able to order from the website the item is in stock. They show 1022 Receivers in stock, however barrels appear to be sold out.
I ordered parts in October and they were promptly shipped .
SBI has barrels in stock again.

There's a large market for just barrels.
10-22 and 870 short barrels seem always in demand.
Pleasing people is hard though, a shop could build 5 different configurations but there's someone that always wants a 6th configuration thats not available and all we would read about is how poor the selection is.

This past week I communicated with an assistant friend of the retiring owner Josef Dlask (apparently his real last name) who is helping sell the remaining inventory before Mr. Dlask retires very soon...The only timing reference mentioned was trying to have the operation mothballed in early 2026.
...A big shame, I picked up a 10/22 shorty barrel and wanted one of his 20-inchers before they were all sold out.

I recently bought some parts for a TM22 from Josef.
I went to pick it up since I was in the area, saw and bought some other parts that weren't listed on the website.
But yeah, chatted with Josef for a bit, great guy, he mentioned that he's in the process of retirement so website and stock may not be accurate.

Soon all gunshops and gunsmiths here in Canada will either be closed and forced out of business or only offering a very small selection of goods and services deemed okay or approved first by the government.

Joe is a fantastic supporter of many of our events here in the Fraser Valley, I have seen prize tables with 30 Dlask items for giveaway numerous times and have won a couple of barrels over the years,, Dlask Arms will be sorely missed by many.
I wish him well in retirement

I spoke with Joseph about 20yrs ago when I was in the market for my first AR15.
Ended up buying one of his awesome AR15 builds. Wish I had kept it.
I picked up a DLASK 10/22 9" take-down which is also a nice piece.
