Under the new ATT regulations, is it really allowed to take your restricted to any club? For example when you go as a guest with club member?

Most private clubs require some type of a Club Level Handgun Safety Course before that member can bring handguns registered to his address. Bringing a guest with minimal training(RPAL) would require close supervision, probably with the members handguns. Public- commercial ranges may be different.

Never here if that

In Ontario you need an invite. Happens ALL the time for courses and events. Private invites from members is also acceptable.

Seems that opinions vary on this subject. Did anyone had a chance to speak with CFO about it?
Let's say i want to cover my *** , does it have to be a written invite from the club or just a note from a club member will suffice? Are there any actual regulations or it is just one of those gray areas?

Varied opinions because the ATT rules in Ontario are different than Alberta. Here we can go to any certified range in Alberta with our LTATT. There are no club level BS ATT courses either out here. I'd listen to the people from your province who probably know more than we do about how it works out there.

You don't need an invite to go to a club since the ATT was attached to your RPAL. You can take your restricted firearms with an invite from your friend. In fact with the last system you just needed an email from said friend or most clubs posted a form on their website for you to print and add your name, that sure made the pubic safe.

"Found" has it right..... asking a question on here usually leaves the OP in a more confused state that prior to question being asked lol
Everyone has their opinion, they believe they are right, not afraid to share it...... lol
You're from Toronto ?, As long as your not found driving around London ON prior to attending a range in Waterloo you're good.

Yes, very confusing :) I ended up reading and re-reading the complete wording of the latest rules and calling CFO and I have the same understanding right now. Theoretically, if you have a gunsmith in London you are covered there too as long as you can produce an address on request from the cop... I'm in doubt though it's worthwhile to drive around with a gun in Canada more than absolutely necessary :)

Under the new legislation, according to politicians and the media, you can take your high-powered machine guns to the shopping mall, so I am sure its OK for you to visit a range as a guest with a simple handgun.

Enjoy your visit!

Does it mean I can buy this high-powered machine gun too? I had laid my eyes on a nice PPSH-41 ;)
