Is it common for a brand new pistol to come without a mag?

I just wanna see if I'm dealing with a common practice or a shipping error before I contact the store tomorrow. Received a Buck Mark, but no mag to be found, brand spankin' new, from a reputable store. I'm thinking they just made an error and left the mag out while inspecting the contents of the package before shipping it out. Just wanted to hear what you guys thought before I give them a buzz tomorrow. And it wasn't advertised as without a mag but the product page didn't say it came with one either.

Pistol without a mag? Yeaaaa I'd call them. But, any documents in the pistol's box should say what all is supposed to be inside the box.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I didn't go through the documents really. Before I got it, I already downloaded the manual and gave it a read. Everything else was in the box, even the sealed envelope with 2 test-fired cases, but the mag-shaped slot inside the case was empty and the mag wasn't in the gun either. I just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight before contacting the store. Only heard good things about them and they came off as a good bunch over the phone.

This is my first pistol, and while I would have expected a mag to come with it, I've seen many things that wouldn't fly in the mainstream as commonplace in niche markets.

X2

Every pistol I've ever seen had a mag in it.. Or in the box. Thats strange, someone messed up for sure.
TV's come without HDMI cables and then they try to peddle those $100+ Monster cables when a $1.99 Dollarama cable will do the job just as well. Printers commonly come without USB cables and if you don't shop ahead, chances are you'll be covering a 300% markup on what they retail for elsewhere. That's why I had to ask and make sure :)

I've seen stores "remove" a mag, leaving one mag when there should be two, then offering to sell you an extra mag  I'm sure in this case they just made a mistake, I guess you will find out when you give them a call, they might say "it's our policy to ship without mags, HOWEVER, we have a sale on those mags right now! How's $49.99/piece sound?";)

Those guys ship guns that come with 2 mags, with both mags in the package as recently verified by a CGN'er. If they try to pull that on me (highly unlikely), I already got 2 more and a mag loader on order from Brownells ;)
