Hi,

I brought my new purchase Glock 17 gen4 with adjustable rear sight, I put 150 rounds through the paper at 15 yard, all my shots are to the left and high above the point of aim. Is that normal or something with my Glock 17. I did adjust the rear sight but didn't seem to work much.

On contrary, I also brought my Tokarev, put 40 rounds through the target at the same distance, all 40 rounds are in 6 inch target. So I'm sure it's not the shooter.

Any help or suggestion would be appreciate, Thanks.

Mine shoots left. I even got someone else with a lot of experience to shoot it and they grouped a little to the left.

but then as a surprise twist I shot with my weak (left) hand and it grouped center.

So I have no idea what the deal is. Maybe try a laser down the bore and compare to the sight picture.

I always avoid the Glock adjustable sight as I have heard they wander a bit, but can't confirm that. Did you try benching it and seeing where they go? It could be the sights, but pulling to the left is sometimes a sign of lack of trigger control but it is usually low and left with a Glock, not high.

First, I was like well, probably since I haven't shot too long, my finger control might sloppy but I can confirm that it's not when I pull my Tokarev and put 40 rounds down the target. I will call a few friends who has Glock, meet them at the range and test it out. Bench shooting will sure do at this Wednesday and report back.

Are you using any of the back straps ? I'm fine with mine until I add any of them. It just affects my grip in a weird way.

It could the double trigger on the Glock, way different than a Tok, I think you need to work on this ..., finger control.

Yes, it could be but I did squeeze it to unlock the first stage then aim where I want and pull the trigger. Hope I didn't do something wrong. I even ask a RO, load a dummy round without telling me and see if I flinch but I didn't.

its not you. its the gun. take it back. get something. not made of plastic.

just kidding, have a group of hot young men shoot it and see if they get similar results.

Yes, I heard ya. I might get back to 1911, a few kimber are on my list but only when I recover with all the spending on holiday.

I just took my brand new Glock 22 gen4 out yesterday for the first time and put about 40 rounds through it. It grouped consistently left. I know that after shooting the first few rounds I had the wrong backstrap in place. What felt good in the hand was actually painful under recoil. When I get more time I will experiment with the different sized straps.

Its most likely you and not the gun, or rather how you shoot that specific gun. I developed a weird flinch with a glock, I was shooting low and left whereas with every other gun i was shooing fine. At first i though it was the gun until i tried shooting it of a rest. Off the rest it was dead center but as soon as shoot freehand its low and left. When I took it apart i found some rub marks on the left side of the trigger indicating that when i was pulling the trigger i was pushing it and the whole gun to the left. Actually, come to think of it my ruger mk3 has similar marks but its not affected as much.

Check it off the rest and adjust your trigger pull accordingly.
