I will soon be getting my first pistol, and like to take it to the range. I go to Silverdale as a guest however they currently are not taking members until October. Is it possible to still get a LTATT?

I have heard of some cases where the stated intent to get a membership is enough but it seems in most cases an actual membership in good standing is required. You could try asking the club management/director or whoever if they can provide a letter saying that you are in the process of applying for a membership. That might work, but it's just as likely that the CFO will tell you no.
Alternatively some clubs do offer a sort of "associate" membership thing at discounted rates so that you can get the ATT. That might be a possibility.

Good luck with this.

(1) Silverdale is usually super-amazing about new membership  : have you spoken with Joan yet ?.....

(2) Bureaucratically possible to get an LTATT w/o membership ?

Not (yet) in Ontario....:(

Legally possible ?

We'll wait and see....:nest:

From what I've been reading on CGN for Ontario, you can't get an LTATT unless you are a club member. Which sucks 'cause I'd probably only go to the range maybe 2-3x a month if that (just too busy with other stuff) and day access ranges like Silverdale or The Grange would be ideal for me.

On their website (and from the lady at the front desk, talking to some other guests) it says that they closed membership until October. Is Joan the lady at the front desk that sells the passes?

It frustrates me that the CFO can put in BS restrictions like "need to be a member of a range". This isn't even in the legislature right? Does the CFO ask for some kind of document from the club?

PM has been sent....:yingyang:....

The Ontario CFO apparently wants everything (e.g. all ATT requests) routed though the clubs/ranges :( , and will seemingly vigorously oppose any attempt to have things transpire any other way.....
