Is it safe to polish SKS bayonet

I polished mine to a chrome like finish. It has not tarnished at all.
I used a buffer wheel in my drill press, and a hard polishing compond from Canadian Tire. When it starts to look dirty, I use Rubbing alcohol to remove finger prints and dirt. Like new again !!

If yours is a non-refurb, unissued one, I would leave it alone as it has collectors value to it. It may take a while, but they might be worth a bit in a few years.

If its a refurb, go ahead. They already are mismatched.
