Is norinco Yellow box 223 corrosive

do you know is it actually 223 or 556. the wood crate is labeled 556 yet the box's are labeled 223. just curious to see if it is safe to shoot out of a rifle with a barrel stamp of 223.

It's as close to M193 as anything. Very hot, about 3300fps from a 20" AR. I love the stuff personally but ran out a long time ago.

Not corrosive & decently accurate. Think more 3 gun or CQB, rather than ELR...

Was a smoking deal back in the day when you could get crates of 1120 or 1600 rounds.

It’s Chinese. Don’t feed the monster that stole our lives. Buy American/European, even if it is twice the price.

I agree in part. Ammunition, regardless of country of manufacture, are "Freedom Seeds" in the right hands.

The last stuff bulk stuff that I bought at a store was the Federal Black Pack & IIRC was 32.6 cents a round?

YMMV

Cheers
Jay
P.S. I'd like to see a return of manufacturing to our shores to!

The Norinco was 4 crates for the price of 3 at one point. I think it worked out to under .20c/round. I bought enough to fill a closet. Sadly about half was lost in a house fire years ago. Of the 20,000+ rounds I have fired personally I think I have had a couple cracked cases, otherwise zero issues. I'd love to see deals like that again but it's very unlikely.
