Is it making a comeback or was it ever even popular? I see Winchester has some new offerings in 25-06 and I'm reading more posts about it on this site. It sounds like a versatile caliber and those that do shoot it really seem to like it.

.25-06

Always had a small but loyal following. Wouldnt say it's "making a comeback",but wouldnt say it's "dead" either. I find the good old .257 Roberts more inspiring to be honest. Just me though.
Cheers

I've posted this previously but a couple of years ago, I decided to get something for varmints and preds that would reach out a little and I decided on the 25-06. After seeing how well the Savage 22-250's my Daughter and Son In Law have shoot, I went for a Savage as well.

And considering it's a relatively inexpensive rifle, I'm more than pleased with the accuracy results. Pardon the home made target.

The only reason it is not as popular in Ontario as some other cartridges, is that it was never available off-the-shelf in the Rem 7600 or 7400...:D

As has already been said, I didn't even know it had gone anywhere. Mine has been right here all along and ammo is almost everywhere in several choices of brand and bullet.
Nice versatile loads, coyotes to caribou.

Nice rig Tazzy. Mine is similar in 25/06 also. Love it, and started hand loading for a wider range of bullets. 75 grain to 120.

Bullets aren't too easy to find in all the outlying hardware stores. Just make sure you have enough when you leave the house.

Really could make a case for all of the 25 caliber rifles. How many fellows here shoot 257 Roberts, or 250 Savage, now these are tougher to come by as few rifle makers still manufacture these 2 calibers. FS
