Hello gents,

This may have been asked before, but I did not see it in my search.

I have a Mossberg 590 that was having feeding issues. Someone told me it was the mag guide that was the issue, so I got a bright green dlerin one. It ended up being the very weak mag spring; since I swapped it there has been no problems at all. I was going to put the old mag guide that came with the gun back in to gain that extrea round lost by the green mag guide, but I am now not sure if I will have problems or not.

Two questions out of this. The first is has anyone had problems with the mag follower that comes with the gun? Second one is, if you recommend a bette mag follower, waht one do you use that allows that extra round?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Personally, I like the stainless ones, but it's personal preference.

S&J hardware sells a bunch of different types... some delrin ones that don't have a 'tail', so no capacity loss.

I've got the original orange one. I like it because it's solid, can easily be seen, and there's a nipple that can be felt for inspection of the tube. It also is self-lubricating so I find that putting shells in the tube of my M500 is quite easy.

I have an S&J Delrin follower in my HP9, replacing the cheap plastic orange cup. I feel like it binds a bit less loading the first shell, but that could be my imagination. It's certainly no worse, and they're cheap enough that it's no big loss if you don't think you notice a difference.

That said, the stock follower in my 887, which I believe is annodized aluminum, has given me no trouble.

Well its easy for me to tell you how good they are but that's not fair.
We have sold them all over the world from iceland to Australia.
We just hit 17 thousand sold.
We have made the tail on the original follower a tad shorter and added a larger chamfer to the backend.
To the OP what you need ideally is our mossberg foLlower.

Absolutely!

I think the Delrin mag follower is the cheapest improvement you can do to your shotty without breaking the bank.

I have BBB's mag follower on all my Tactical shotguns and now thinking of getting more on all my hunting shotguns as well.

Too bad my O/U don't need one:p
