Is the Hakim worth the money?

I suspect they are, it seems to me that relatively few of them came into the country. You will not see them anywhere near the frequency of the Swedish Ag m/42.

They are also a ton of fun to shoot.

Remember though that value is always in the eye of the purchaser.

Considering the price of the Rashid and the 42 Swed. Hakim is not as common as the Swede so I expect prices to be higher. Wasn’t produced in the numbers the Swede was. Basically up into the bottom end of Garand prices, possibly mid for better examples. Any full size semi battle rifle has increased in price lately. Average condition rifles are over a grand Swede or SVT 40’s which are more common. I have a Rashid which sell for probably two grand if you can find one.
So 1800 for Hakim is not out of the way. I would expect a shooter in decent condition. Eventually I plan to get a Hakim, which I think would make a nice companion for the Swede and Rashid.

1800 is around the "going rate " if you want one buy it , have fun and take care of it , it will only go up in value if you maintain it in good condition .
there is nothing cheap or inexpensive about this hobby anymore

I have a beater Hakim that we shot a lot of surplus Yugo ammo out of. Very noisy, but can be tamed somewhat if the plug/baffle is screwed out of the muzzle brake. I also have one that is close to new, plus one or two for parts. Big old rifle. We loved shooting these rifles.

Oh yeah! That thing rings!

I wouldn't pay that, I've handled a few and didn't care for them.

IMO the SKS is the best of the bunch (Hakim, AG42, SVT40, FN49).

I have had all three the ag the hakim and the rashid i don't have any of them anymore but the ag42 is by far the most accurate of the three the swell in the surplus market over these covid years makes collecting them rather unpleasant anymore if you do buy one get lots of pictures as they have been through the ringer and most you will find are not in fantastic shape and the destroy brass so make a gas key or find one i put JB weld in the end of a shell casing and pressed it onto the gas knob made an imprint then when it hardened it worked like a charm just my own personal experience but in short to answer your question is it worth the price?? I think there are far better millsurps out there at those prices in most likely far better shape too

Big, heavy, noisy, throws brass 3 miles away...what's not to like? The worth question is difficult to answer as it very much depends on the individual. What is "worth it" to me may not be "worth it" to you
