Hey guy's, I am looking to buy a good quality scope to go on top of a Remington 7600 30-06. I would like it to be lightweight, compact and have fast acquisition for moving targets. This will be pretty much a "do it all" scope for Ontario moose and deer. Where I hunt it is thick bush with some open hardwoods but shots are usually under 100 yards and more often 50 yards at a moving deer or a moose in thick bush. I like the looks of the Leupold VXII 1-4x20 but I am worried how fast it would be with the smaller 20mm objective, granted I can use it on 1x power. For around $400 would this be a good option or would I be better off with tru-glo or Williams open sights, or maybe a red dot sight? What do you guys think? Thanks

Yeah the VX-1 is the same glass/coatings as the older VX-II.. People have been saying they aren't great in low light compared to other scopes such as Bushnell Elite and Vortex Diamondback/Viper.. series. That might be something worth looking into. Pun intended lol.

I put a vx-2 1-4x20 on my su16 and find she's a beautiful little scope, light, bright and all that other good stuff :)

Then again, I have poor eyesight and have a hard time focusing with irons and find red dots to be blurry, so I'm kind of biased.
