I used an oldern Mossberg 500 in a 3 gun shoot and one feature that I really appreciated was that the lifter stayed lifted and out of the way when the action was closed. This made reloading a little easier and faster. I am wondering if the Maverick 88 operates the same way.
Is the Maverick 88 and Mossberg 500 Action the same

The location of the safety is not really that important to me. I am only using it for the occasional 3 gun match and I only hit the safety once. I had bought a benelli nova as it was recommended for 3 gun and it did not work well at all. I found it really awkward to load. A friend passed me and old mossberg and I found it was much faster to load. If the maverick 88 worker exactly the same as a persuader I would buy it as it is a 100$ cheaper and I am never going to use it except for the occasional match.
