Is the WK-181 dead?

I know it dates back to when kodiak and Wolverine were in business together but has anyone heard if it ever going to happen?

I think it is because it'd just be the current wk-180 in 7.62x39 (which exists and is being sold) but with AK magazines.

There's no benefit or point in doing it

I disagree. 7.62x39 stanag mags have been troublesome at best. Given that the LRBHO is optional on the WS/WX/WK platform an AK mag lower would do well as it is not needed with AK mags. It would make the M10x rifle obsolete with a side folding stock & lower cost not to mention Canadian made make it quite the handy dandy hunting/target rifle.
