Is there a 22lr shortage?

Search online and order by the case. In local stores it’s hit and miss, and not big volume. It costs $100 to fill the tank in a Dodge Caravan. 5 tanks can buy a case of 22 ammo online.

There just can't be a shortage of ammo , or guns. If there was , surely someone would have mentioned it in the last few years on here .
The good news is , it's never too late to ask , and .22 ammo can still be had online easily. Check the site sponsors.

Yes and no. A lot of popular cheaper stuff has disappeared at many vendors especially in bulk over the last year. It’s not as cheap as it once was but if you head down to Bullseye in London you can pick up a case of Winchester 555 for $419. Assuming that your firearm isn’t too picky that is, one of mine is so it’s not for me. Good folks to deal with and if you don’t mind the drive you save shipping.

Aside from the normal shortages we have been facing for the last couple years, I imagine a lot of shooters that were primarily 9mm/5.56/.308 shooters are putting in far more trigger time with their .22's in order to be more economical.

Yes there is a shortage . and some things have more than doubled in price . they were afraid of Biden down south and people are thinking that the world is going to end hence the shortage of ammo . if you have the coin buy a case like someone suggested .

Bullseye is selling a case on 555 Winchester for $356, probably can’t beat the price these days. Sale won’t be on forever though!

When the Americans were running out of 22 and paying absurd prices I really started stocking up in anticipation of the "upcoming" shortage. That was more than a year ago and I've still never had any issues finding what I want. We didn't get hit like the Americans did, I heard some companies had an allocated minimum percentage for international orders after the last ammo drought, not sure if it's true or not, but the way things stayed in stock this time Iam tempted to believe it.

I went to my local GS and they had a lot of match grade 22 not a lot of plinking 22. My local Canadian Tire had a decent supply. I had to go to Toronto last week and stopped by Tenda and they had a great supply in store. They had not updated their website so sometimes its worth a quick call to confirm. Needless to say I grabbed some from each place. I do not like to leave empty handed.

No one should leave a gun store empty handed, wallet yes, hands no lol!
