Is there a .22LR witha velocity higher than 1,800 feet per second ?

Ya the vilocitor is about the same as the stinger. Pretty sure thats about all you can get from a lr. If you need something more step up to a 22 mag or hmr.

Could always hog out the bullet on a stinger with a drill, make a super large hollow point that weighs about 24 grains. :p

Joking of course, that would probably be a very bad idea.

What's the reason for the question? It is usual for the velocity of the ammunition to be marked on the manufacturer's packaging. Seems that the Aquila Supermaximum is as near as you are going to get with a .22 rimfire round. Of course, all the .17 rimfires beat that comfortably.

Aguila SM is 1670 actual, through the chrono... Imagine a manufacturer making embellished claims!

I do know something that you don't... There is no 1800 fps LR... And if there was it would be "highly" unstable and inaccurate... The LR case has a limited capacity and coupled with rimfire ignition can only propel a projectile so fast, while at the same time maintain stability... The only option therefore is to go with a lighter bullet, which means either "shorter" or poor SD... And equals inaccuracy...

Don't chase velocity in LR loads... Go the other way and find the most consistently stable, accurate load for your gun... This usually means Subsonic OR Standard Velocity loads... But do try Mini-Mag solids and HP, they can be very accurate in some guns... Personal I gave up on "Hyper" loads, and only shoot "HV" loads (MM's) out of a couple guns... The rest get fed SV's and Sub's...

Not really, there are several tool types made to increase the size of HP 22 ammo. I use the Paco Tool. FS

Just pull the bullet out of the case, dump the powder and replace with pistol powder of choice........wear eye protection.

"...would probably be a very bad idea..." It wouldn't do anything either.
"...There is no 1800 fps LR..." Absolutely. Most .22 LR bullets are plain lead and will either melt or break up at excessive velocities.

bingo for me I've found most high velocity stuff to not be very accurate at least that's for my gun made a early cooey model 60 I've found most bulk pack to shoot well enough to hit a sparrow that's the smallest thing I hunt don't need much more
