Is there a gunsmith in Canada who does barrel boring?

I have a Pattern 14 and a No 4 with a pitted and corroded bore. I would like to turn one of these into a .338 - 303, or a 35 - 303 and get the reloading dies built at the same time.
any suggestions?

Ron Smith does an awesome job of it, at least he used to. Not sure where he is anymore, maybe alberta or sask. Google should find him.

You need a barrel maker who cut rifles and is a gunsmith. Ron Smith might be able to help you on the boring and rifling. I don't know if he would makes you dies...

but I suspect you could buy a better commercial rifle and dies in a better cartridge for much better value.

C+H has 35-.303 dies listed and can make the .338-.303 dies.Whether 3 fired cases will make it through the mail is another thing with the idiots at Homeland Security.Harold

M&S Stocking in Leader SK does line boring......

At least that's what he told me in the fall of 2012 when I last talked to him..... He also does stock work and hand cuts checkering for a "reasonable" cost.

Just as a side note, I have had stainless barrels supplied, chambered and installed for about half the cost of what he would want for line boring an old wore out barrel.....

What the heck kinda money is that guy charging for this "line boring" service? Ron will rebore, rifle and chamber your rifle for about the cost of a blank; $300-$400-ish.

Give Ron a call 403-631-2405 he just got home from a shoot in Spokane. Should be home for this week before leaving again. He'll probably tell you it will get done this winter...
